Overview
Word Trail Journey ("the game") is a general-audience word game published by Chand Studios ("we", "us"). You can play as a guest without creating an account, and the core campaign works fully offline. This policy explains what data the game uses and the choices you have.
Data stored on your device
The game stores your settings, completed levels, stars, coins, hint usage, purchase entitlements, and gameplay statistics locally on your device. This information stays on your device and is not uploaded to a personal cloud account.
Global leaderboard
The game downloads public ranking records from Google Firebase Cloud Firestore to show a global leaderboard. If you choose to set an explorer username, that display name is stored — together with a random, installation-specific profile identifier — so your ranking name can update. Your local guest statistics are merged into the display on your device and are not uploaded. Firebase processes standard network information (such as your IP address) needed to deliver this feature. See Firebase privacy.
Advertising & consent
The game shows ads through Google AdMob, including optional rewarded videos you choose to watch and occasional full-screen ads between puzzles. To serve ads, Google may process an advertising identifier and standard ad-request data.
Purchasing Remove Ads (or the Starter Bundle) disables the between-puzzle and app-open ads. See how Google uses advertising data.
In-app purchases
The game offers optional in-app purchases (coin packs, Remove Ads, and a Starter Bundle) processed by Google Play Billing. Google Play handles payment and stores your purchase history; the game stores only an anonymized transaction identifier on your device so a purchase is delivered once and can be restored. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Crash and error reporting
The game uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to record crash and error diagnostics — such as device model, operating-system version, and the technical stack trace — so we can find and fix problems. This information is not used to identify you personally and is never sold, and no advertising or analytics profile is built from it. See Firebase privacy.
Children
The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Play the campaign, Daily, Events, and Zen modes fully offline.
- Delete all locally stored progress and preferences from Settings → Manage local data, or by clearing the app's data in Android settings.
- Change or reset your advertising consent and identifier from your device's Google settings.
- Purchase Remove Ads to turn off between-puzzle advertising.
Security & retention
Local progress remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the game. Leaderboard and consent data are retained only as long as needed to provide those features.
